FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: ESSIE LICORICE | CHANEL 573 | FORMULA X GENIUS | ESSIE FOREVER YUMMY

Just recently, I've been getting into nail polishes. Usually I don't like to fuss around with painting my nails because they grow out so quickly and sometimes question, "What's the point?". But since I got the Ciaté Mini Mani Month this past month, it's got me really excited to paint my nails - who wouldn't get excited over 24 colorful mini nail polishes? Most of the colors in the calendar are brights and neons, so unfortunately those have to wait until summer to play.

However, these are the color I always gravitate towards during the winter season. In terms of quality of the polishes, my favorite formula would be Essie and least favorite is Chanel. This is the only Chanel polish I my sister owns, it's chips after 2 days of wear! Sadly, I'll probably never purchase a Chanel polish simply because the wear time is so short, but the packaging is très fancy, no? What are some of your favorite polishes (and colors) to wear during the cooler months?

  1. Yeah I've had issues with Chanel beauty products as well. Some just aren't that great, which sucks because Chanel is such a classic, iconic brand. I'm all about dark colors too! Even in the summer i find myself wearing darker shades versus brights or neons. I've got a dark nude/tan/orange color that I think will be a good transition color form winter to spring. Can't wait to try it out :)

    1. Yeah, I completely agree with you about Chanel products. It's such a shame because they aren't exactly the cheapest products. I tend to lean towards darker colors year round as well. The dark nude/ tan/ orange color sounds beautiful - I'm really into nudes as well.

I'm super excited to read your book reviews for your #year150. One of my New Year resolutions is to read more books this year :) xx

  2. Absolutely love these colors! Definitely what I've been wearing too since the weather has been getting colder. Aww so sad to hear that about your Chanel polishes tho as that's all I wear haha. Are you wearing them with a base and top coat? I find experimenting with that helps a whole lot :)

    1. Thanks for stopping by Erica! Yeah, I really wanted to like the Chanel polish because I know a lot of people love them. Yep, I used a Ciaté and a Sally Hanson base and top coat - I'll keep experimenting with it. Have a lovely day :)
