SEPHORA COLLECTION CREAM LIP STAIN MANDARIAN MUSE & BLACKBERRY SORBET

Bold lips are definitely more of a winter thing than a summer thing, for me at least. Just the thought of having to deal with sweaty skin while making sure lipstick isn't all over my face and teeth is just too much to handle. I mean aren't summers for the effortless, "I just woke up like this" look? And bold lips are a perfect compliment to pale winter skin - it gives a bit life to the face.

I decided to try out these hyped up Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain. Mandarin Muse (orangey red) and Blackberry Sorbet (dark plum) are both new colors in the collection and colors I tend to gravitate towards. I'll give them a solid 5.5 out of 10 and explain why. I love both of the colors, but unfortunately the formula wasn't my favorite. Since they're meant to be a long wearing product, the formula is on the dryer side (like Sahara Desert dry) and literally dries up in few seconds after application. And my lips felt super sore after a couple hours of wear time, so that's a double thumbs down. Overall, these lip stains are loved by many, so I would say try them out if you're in the market for an inexpensive, long wearing and pigmented lip product. However, personally I'm going to stick to the traditional lipsticks and reapply when needed. Who really needs long wearing anyways?

LOOK: RAY BAN SUNNIES | H&M CROP TOP & RINGS | MOM'S OLD PANTS | ZARA SHOES | TRUDY'S EARRINGS

Just this past week, it was freakishly warm (low - mid 60s), here in SC. And now it all feels like a dream, as I'm bundled up and shivering clicking away at this sunny side up post (okay. fine. shivering is a slight exaggeration). At least I don't have to brace for the hectic Northeast winter storm blizzard. What's the weather like where you're at? I've been quite busy with life (*cough cough* job applications) lately, that I haven't had the time to shoot outfits. And not to mention the shivering weather has kept me inside for the most part!

If you couldn't tell from my recent looks, I've been heavily raiding my parent's closet (as seen here with: mom's old silk shirt & patterned vest and dad's colorful piece of art). And things aren't different for this look, these are my mom's old pants I found collecting dust - surprisingly they fit like a glove! The orange tribal inspired slip-on sandals break up the all black theme and gives the look a laid back vibe, kind of like opps forgot to change my shoes before leaving the house. Follow my blog with Bloglovin

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: ESSIE LICORICE | CHANEL 573 | FORMULA X GENIUS | ESSIE FOREVER YUMMY

Just recently, I've been getting into nail polishes. Usually I don't like to fuss around with painting my nails because they grow out so quickly and sometimes question, "What's the point?". But since I got the Ciaté Mini Mani Month this past month, it's got me really excited to paint my nails - who wouldn't get excited over 24 colorful mini nail polishes? Most of the colors in the calendar are brights and neons, so unfortunately those have to wait until summer to play.

However, these are the color I always gravitate towards during the winter season. In terms of quality of the polishes, my favorite formula would be Essie and least favorite is Chanel. This is the only Chanel polish I my sister owns, it's chips after 2 days of wear! Sadly, I'll probably never purchase a Chanel polish simply because the wear time is so short, but the packaging is très fancy, no? What are some of your favorite polishes (and colors) to wear during the cooler months?

First off, let's cheers to the New Year! It's funny how a brand new set of 365 days could cause such commotion, it's simply just another day in our lives - a measurement of time if you will. I guess it's a nice way to start fresh just like blank sheets of paper for the next chapter. And of course it's the perfect excuse (reason) to set new resolutions and goals. What are some of your resolutions and goals for 2015?
