Mini products make me far more happy than they should. But who doesn't get excited when they see mini products let alone BEAUTY minis? I was browsing the Sephora website one night and saw that there was this YSL 500 points reward up for grabs. I couldn't restrain myself to keep saving my points in the hopes of something better in the next coming months, so I bought the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel because I'm running low. And my skin can't function without it.

I absolutely love this YSL mini beauty set especially the mirror (which also comes with a carrying cover sleeve); it feels so luxe because it's super heavy, for a mirror at least. I can see myself in 20 years still carrying this little gorgeous pocket mirror. I haven't had the chance to use the lipstick, mascara and eyeliner yet, but I'm sure they will not disappoint. Unfortunately this Sephora reward isn't available on the website anymore because there was only a limited amount. But if you're in the spendy mood, there are full sizes of each beauty product.

Paris will always have a piece of my heart. There is something special about living in a place for an extended period of time. Even with nearly two years passing, I still think about it like it was yesterday.

In the spirit of Paris Fashion Week commencing, I thought it would be nice to reminisce back on my time in the fashionable oh so chic city with some of my film photos (insert retro camera emoji).  I also have a few street style photos (including an up close and personal shot of Ms. Anna Dello Russo AND a candid photo with legendary Bill Cunningham) I took during PFW Fall/ Winter '13 (yes I know it was ages ago), but I might do another blast from the past in honor of PFW. Let me know if you would like to see them.

Okay let's jump in the time machine and go back to spring '13. Everything you once called "routine" changes with the blink of an eye. It took me about a week to get used to my new home for the next 5 months. And during my stay, I tried my best to stop and document the beauty around me. Every now and then, I would bring my little disposable camera along with me. I like how film photographs come out because they are full of character. Nowadays everyone is Instagram obsessed and overdoing it with filters. Film photographs develop their own filter, and it's always exciting to see how the photos come out (sometimes it's beautiful and others not so great as you can see my experience).

When I got back to the states from my study abroad trip, I had forgotten about my disposable cameras. Once I found them, I quickly took my local Wal Mart to get them developed. It brought back so many great memories with friends and exploring new places. To be honest, I had forgotten about taking most of the pictures but now looking at them makes it feel just like yesterday. If you ever go on a trip, whether it be halfway around the world or to the next town over, I would highly recommend bringing along a disposable camera! Hope you guys enjoyed a little blast from the past with the help of "film-filter".

Note: The "film filter" can only be achieved through the process of film photography (aka old school cameras). *It cannot be found on Instagram or any other photo enhancing app, no matter how many filters, grain, saturation, etc. you put on it*

"Embrace the current season of your life"Gabrielle Blair of Design Mom

I feel like this quote really speaks to me during this period of my life. So just a quick summary of my "currently"...
- I graduated university 2, almost 3 months ago, with degrees in International Business and Marketing
- Now I'm looking for a job (preferably in the Greater New York City Area) that I will be satisfied with for a good period of time - something that will help me gain more experience/ knowledge and has the potential for growth
- And I'm slowly figuring out that the post graduation job search is probably one of the most discouraging process with the whole "hearing 50 noes before 1 yes"
- But also, enjoying my quality time at home with family but quickly craving something new, a bit of city life adventures

Nevertheless, I guess with all the pressures of finding a job while having the clock ticking away... I need to "Embrace the current season of MY life" because once I get an offer and possibly (hopefully) move, I won't get to see my family or my little Casper as often as everyday. And family is everything to me. So everyone should take the time out of their day and really embrace the current season YOUR life, wherever in life you may be because these seasons help you grow/ develop into a better you (if that makes any sense) and eventually make up your entire lifetime. It's a deep post today, but I think they are much needed once in awhile in the pile of makeup, fashion, etc. posts. xx

What is it with that satisfying feeling of peeking into other people's makeup bags? Same goes for the classic medicine cabinet as well - "Top Shelf" via Into the Gloss It's probably just the simple hopes of discovering a new holy grail or trusting a friend, beauty guru, editor, celebrity, etc. on what they like use.

These are the products that are currently living in my well-loved purple MAC makeup bag (that came with a set of brushes -  like the blush brush that's falling apart). I don't necessarily use every product on a daily basis because I like to keep things fairly au naturel. But if I'm ever in the mood for an extra pow, I'm not afraid throw on a red lip.

If you read my previous post, Live Plants then you were probably expecting this update post to follow it. It took us awhile to get around planting our succulents and cacti, after we bought our plants from Lowe's. And just the other day, we randomly took our soil, pots, rocks and cooking tongs (to protect our hands from the cactus needles). Camilla was calling this entire gardening time "Zen Gardening". In reality, it was not exactly the most zen vibe with the scorching hot weather these days but aside from the heat; it was quite a relaxing time. Camilla and I quite enjoy gardening and watching things grow. There's something very satisfying and relaxing about watching things grow/ bloom each day. Hope everyone is enjoying their week and the start of fashion month with NYFW kicking off today!

It is that time of the year, the most wonderful time of the year, YES I MEAN ALL THE WONDERFUL THINGS THAT COME WITH THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER (All the long awaited September Issues on every magazine racks, Fashion Week commencing in NYC, all the new Spring/ Summer collection to drool over and dream of one day owning)!

And of course, I picked up my crisp creaseless (I literally go to every rack to look for the one less damaged - does anyone else do this?) copy of Vogue's September Issue. I have yet to completely go through the entire magazine, but I can tell it's a good one - seeing that it highlights "The Instagirls" aka some of my favorite models and has NINE models on the cover!

Other things that I'll be obsessing over include: my brand new iPhone 5s (in gold of course) and the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Radiant Magenta. So I finally upgraded my iPhone 4s to the 5s, and I haven't been able to put it down - so yeah pretty much the same since having the 4s. As for the blush, it is a gorgeous bright pink that complements my skin tone very well. It's highly pigmented with tiny golden shimmers. I know it's quite pricey for a blush, but I don't see myself making a dint (or ever hitting pan) in it anytime soon. Well Happy September 1st to everyone and hope you guys are enjoying ALL the September Issues!
